Speeding motorist accused of OWI

JASPER — Police placed a motorist under arrest early Sunday after a traffic stop.
A Jasper Police Department officer observed a 2010 Mercury traveling at 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on 36th Street near Portersville Road at 12:34 a.m.
Police who suspected the driver, David J. Dimock, 49, 4657 Bern Strasse, was impaired said his blood alcohol content tested .168% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Dimock into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:44 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. Dimock was given a court date and released on his own recognizance later Sunday morning.
