Speeding motorist accused of OWI

HUNTINGBURG — Police accused a speeding motorist of impaired driving after a traffic stop late Wednesday night.

A Huntingburg Police Department officer stopped an Audi passenger car driven by Mackenzie D. Tarvin, 25, Tempe, Arizona, at 11:55 p.m. for allegedly going 36 mph in a 25 mph zone on North Chestnut Street.

Police said Tarvin exhibited signs of impairment and her blood alcohol content tested .13% in a certified test at the Huntingburg Police Station.

Authorities booked Tarvin into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:09 a.m. today on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
