From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — A motorist was arrested and accused of impaired driving after a traffic stop late Saturday night on Huntingburg’s north side.

A Huntingburg Police Department officer running radar stopped a southbound 2015 Dodge Durango driven by Brienna L. Kemp, 29, 745 Missouri St., Ferdinand, at 11:35 p.m. near U.S. 231 and Phoenix Drive after clocking the vehicle at 67 mph in the 55 mph zone.

Police who noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle said Kemp’s blood alcohol content later tested .14% in a certified test at the Huntingburg Police Station.

Authorities booked Kemp into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:07 a.m. Sunday on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. She was released on her own recognizance Sunday.
