HUNTINGBURG — Police accused a Johnson County man of impaired driving after a traffic stop early Sunday in Huntingburg.

A Huntingburg Police Department officer stopped a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Traverse on Main Street north of Second Street at 1:16 a.m. after clocking the SUV at 42 mph in the 25 mph zone.

Police said the driver, Garrett E. Gilmour, 33, Whiteland, had a blood alcohol content that tested .15% on a portable breath test. Gilmour did not provide a sufficient sample for certified BAC testing, according to police.

Authorities booked Gilmour into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:03 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated (test refusal) and OWI (endangerment). He was granted a conditional release from jail Sunday night.
