HUNTINGBURG — Police placed a Huntingburg man under arrest after a traffic stop early Saturday afternoon.

A Huntingburg Police Department officer stopped a southbound black Mercedes with a Florida license plate in the 1500 block of Van Buren Street at 12:19 p.m. after allegedly catching it speeding.

The driver, Eduardo A. Valera, 24, 810 Shelby St., Huntingburg, allegedly provided incorrect information regarding his identity and his driver’s license. Police sorting things out determined Valera’s license was suspended and he was wanted on a warrant out of Florida.

Authorities booked Valera into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:42 p.m. on preliminary charges that included a Level 6 felony count of obstruction of justice, making a false identification statement and driving while suspended.
