Speeding driver accused of ID, license violations

FERDINAND — A speeding driver was taken into custody Thursday night and accused of identification and license violations.

A Ferdinand Police Department officer stopped a northbound 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Jose F. Villeda Paz, 21, whose address is unknown, after allegedly clocking the car traveling 62 mph in a 40 mph zone on State Road 162 at Ferdinand.

Police allege a subsequent investigation found Villeda Paz to be in possession of a false identification and to have never been licensed.

Authorities booked Villeda Paz into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:24 a.m. today on preliminary misdemeanor counts of possessing a false government ID and operator never licensed.
