Special Olympics goes virtual with 5K
March 31, 2020In response to growing concerns about the spread of COVID-19, the Dubois County Special Olympics 10th annual 5K Run and Walk has been shifted to a virtual 5K.
Walkers and runners simply choose their own starting line, starting time and starting place, whether it’s on a treadmill or a neighborhood street. Participants will walk and/or run the 5K distance on the date and time they choose during April and are encouraged to upload a picture as they are completing the virtual 5K to the Facebook page for Dubois County Special Olympics. Participants do not need to report their 5K time. No medals will be presented for the virtual 5K.
To register for the virtual 5K, call Stephani Lane at 812-630-4292 for instructions on how to register. Those who already registered for the 5K will be counted as participant in the virtual 5K.
For more information, visit the organization’s Facebook page or contact Lane.
