Spark Club takes on ‘Star Wars’

Purdue Extension-Dubois County invites youth to join a day full of science and engineering activities related to “Star Wars.” The Science of Star Wars Spark Club: Episode II will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Center for Technology, Innovation and Manufacturing building at Vincennes University Jasper Campus. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. 

Participants will have the opportunity to explore different technologies and participate in STEM challenges relateed to “Star Wars.” The themes throughout the day include Hovercrafts, Artificial Intelligience, Space Travel and Helper Droids. Items that will be featured at the event include Star Wars Bloxels, Little Bits Droid Kits, 3D pens and Ozobots.

The event will incorporate new and different activities that weren’t featured at the first spark club in April.

Youth in grades three through 12 are welcome to participate. The cost is $15 to all current 4-H members and $30 for those not involved in 4-H. The registration fee helps to cover the 4-H program fee for participants. Families that have a financial hardship which would make it difficult for them to pay are asked to contact the Purdue Extension-Dubois County office.
