Southridge wins, Jasper falls

Senior quarterback Chase Taylor and Southridge are 6-0 after a 14-12 win against Tell City on Friday.
Here is a roundup of the local football action Friday night.
Southridge 14, Tell City 12
The Raiders (6-0, 3-0) sit in first place all by themselves in the Pocket Athletic Conference Small School Division after knocking off a previous 5-0 Tell City team. Senior Matt Springer's two touchdowns helped propel Southridge in this one. The Marksmen scored a touchdown with 21 seconds to play, but their two-point conversion attempt was no good, and Southridge held on.
Southridge is scheduled on Oct. 2 to return home against South Spencer.
Evansville Central 24, Jasper 17
The Wildcats (5-1, 5-1) go back to the drawing board after suffering their first defeat Friday. Jasper tied the game, 17-17, after a rushing touchdown by senior Lance Dawkins in the fourth quarter. However, less than a minute later, the Bears ran in what would be the winning score,
Jasper hopes to bounce back Oct. 2 at Castle.
Gibson Southern 38, Heritage Hills 0
The Patriots (2-4, 0-3) fell to PAC Large School Division foe Gibson Southern Friday night. Junior Luke Rickelman played quarterback for the Pats, and he was 3-of-8 passing for 16 yards. RIckelman led the team in rushing with 76 yards on 16 carries. Junior quarterback Brady Allen of the Titans was 15-of-27 passing for 219 yards and three touchdowns.
Heritage HIlls is set for Oct. 2 in its regular season home finale against Washington.
