BOONVILLE — The waiting is over.

Southridge snapped its five-game skid on Thursday, picking up a 48-39 win at Boonville in the regular season finale. The Raiders (9-14) had not won a game since Jan. 25 at North Posey, but they closed things out on a high note with their lone win during the month of February.

They trailed, 14-9, after one, and 34-33 after three, but outscored the Pioneers, 15-5, in the final quarter. Junior Colson Montgomery came through for Southridge, posting a game-high 26 points. Southridge nailed a pair of 3-pointers, both of which came from Montgomery. He also went 6-for-8 at the free throw line.

The Raiders are two wins away from their second sectional championship in three years. Southridge awaits the winner of Tuesday's first round match between Pocket Athletic Conference rivals Forest Park and South Spencer. The Raiders have a bye into the March 7 semifinal at their own Huntingburg Memorial Gym.
