Southridge grad Main receives honor

From Official Release

The Murray State women’s track & field program was honored by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as an All-Academic Team for their performance in the classroom during this past school year.

One individual in particular that was honored was Southridge graduate Aubrey Main. Main was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual after meeting the requirements of having at least a 3.25 GPA and also place in the top 96 of an event nationwide — in her case, the indoor pentathlon.

“We are extremely proud of the team and especially Aubrey for their Academic All-American accomplishments,” said Murray State head coach Adam Kiesel in a press release that was sent out on Thursday. “I am happy for Aubrey that this award could cap off such a great career on the track and now, in the classroom. She has worked hard and deserves the recognition.”

Main is just one of four Ohio Valley female athletes to be honored with this recognition this year and is also the first Murray State athlete since Ashley Conway in 2015 to be recognized.
