JASPER — Did you miss the last few years of Broadway musicals? The best of the tunes will be featured when Broadway Today visits the Jasper Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Four vocalists and back up musicians will entertain with hits from recent Broadway musicals including “Wicked,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Chicago,” “Jersey Boys” and “The Lion King.” The music and vocalists continually change to keep the show updated.

Brian Lane Green who has a long history on Broadway and television.
The Tony-nominated actor appeared as Huck Fin in “Big River” and the title character in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” He may be best known for his roles on daytime television as Alan Brand on “Days of Our Lives” from 1987 to 1989, Sam Fowler on “Another World” from 1991 to 1993 and Brian Bodine on “All My Children” from 1993 to 1994. Born in Columbus, and raised in Cleveland, Tenn., Green began singing in church and won the Church of God National Teen Talent Competition. He began working as a guest actor in “Highway to Heaven,” “Hotel,” “Matlock” and “Murder, She Wrote.”
Christina Saffran Ashford’s career is extensive and a triple threat with extensive credits in acting, singing and voice-over work.
On stage she has performed in “Singin’ in the Rain,” “A Chorus Line,” “The Music Man” and “Drood,” as well as “My Fair Lady,” “Showboat,” “South Pacific,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Sunday in the Park with George.” Her concert work includes being the lead singer for Herbie Hancock, jazzing it up with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and as soloist for various national symphony orchestras. Finally, Ashford has provided animated voices for Disney’s “Aladdin,” “Mulan,” “Magic Flute,” “102 Dalmatians,” “A Bug’s Life” and “Pocahontas II.”
David Burnham just returned from New York where he played Fiyero in the Broadway production of “Wicked.”
He also performed in the Tony Award-winning musical “The Light in the Piazza.” He received the Helen Hayes Award for best actor in 2007. Burnham gained critical acclaim when he was chosen to replace Donny Osmond in the national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” In addition to his extensive acting credits, Burnham has also done voice-over work for animated features, including “The King and I” and “Home on the Range.”
Jessica Hendy’s Broadway credits include “Cats,” “Aida,” “Amour” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
She has toured the United States and Canada in Broadway and off-Broadway productions. Hendy has had the pleasure of singing with several symphonies across the country under the direction of Stephen Reineke, the new POPS conductor at Carnegie Hall.
John Boswell is a performer, composer and served as musical director for Judy Collins, Andy Williams and Bob Newhart.
He played the role of Moose in the national tour of “Crazy for You.” He has also performed in “The Secret Garden,” “Back to Bacharach and David,” and “The Kathy and Mo Show: Parallel Lives.”
Tickets — priced at $33 for adults, $30 for senior citizens and $28 for students and children — are available by calling the Jasper Arts Center at 482-3070.
