From Local Sources
CUZCO — A slick, ice-covered roadway sent a pickup truck into a utility pole Friday morning northeast of Cuzco.
Ethan D. Atkins, 16, Cuzco, was northbound on Cuzco Road North in a 1999 Ford F-150 when he hit a slick spot on the roadway 1,000 feet south of State Road 56 at 7:20 a.m., according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Atkins lost control of the truck, which spun off the east side of the road. The truck stopped when its driver’s side struck and broke a Dubois Rural Electric Cooperative pole.
Two yards also sustained ruts.
Total damage was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
