6 to compete for Miss Strassenfest

JASPER — The Jasper Miss Strassenfest Scholarship Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in conjunction with the Junior Miss and the Little Miss and Little Mister Strassenfest pageants at Redemption Christian Church, 1450 Energy Drive, Jasper.

Scholarships will be awarded to Miss Strassenfest and the first runner-up.

Tickets will be available at the door for $5; the doors open at 6:30 p.m. More than 1,000 seats are available.

The six Miss Strassenfest contestants are:

Carpenter

Sara Carpenter is the daughter of Cindy and Kurt Carpenter. She will be a junior at Butler University where she is majoring in communication sciences and disorders with a minor in special education. For her community service project she volunteered at the Purdue Extension office in Dubois County.











Siddons

Shelby Siddons is the daughter of Kathy Kugler, Glen Siddons and stepfather Chip Kugler. She will be a junior at Indiana University Southeast where she is majoring in psychology with a double minor in Spanish and communications. She volunteered at Northwood Retirement Community for her community service project.











Masterson

Keregyn Masterson is the daughter of Sharon and Patrick Masterson. She will be a freshman at Indiana University Southeast where she will major in Spanish and political science. For her community service project she volunteered for TOPSoccer.












Shepherd

Lydia Shepherd is the daughter of Marsha and Kevin Shepherd. She will be a sophomore at Indiana University where she is majoring in elementary education and special education. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for her community service project.












Truesdale

Grace Truesdale is the daughter of Abby and John Truesdale. She will be a Senior at Jasper High School. For her community service project she volunteered for the Rotary Club of Jasper.













Thrasher

Brooklyn Thrasher is the daughter of Christy and William Thrasher. She will be a Senior at Jasper High School. She volunteered for First Baptist Church for her community service project.
