Singers needed for annual showdown

JASPER — The 38th annual WBDC Country Showdown will take place Thursday, June 6, at Jasper Arts Center on Vincennes University Jasper Campus.

Acts from the tri-state area will compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to perform at the Indiana state finals.
The competition is open to individual or group vocal and/or instrumental acts. Entries are being accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, April 19.

Entry forms and details are available online at or may be picked up at the WBDC Studios at 458 Third Ave., Jasper. The entry fee is $30.

WBDC will provide a backup band for performers, if needed. Performances are limited to 10 minutes.
The winner will receive $1,000, the first runner-up $250 and third place $100. The top three finishers will also receive an engraved trophy.
