Shelby Hopf and Scott Garrison exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2019, in St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Smyrna, Tennessee. Father Thomas Kessler, Newburgh, officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Julie Hopf, Huntingburg. The groom is the son of the late Dennis Garrison and Melanie Garrison, Boonville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a sheath style, full crepe material, silk white gown by Anne Barge with off-the-shoulder straps and an open back detail with material buttons that trail the back of the dress through the length of the train. The dress was accented by a cathedral length veil. The bride carried a handkerchief made of material from her mother’s and grandmother’s wedding gowns alongside her cascading bouquet of white peonias, white hydrangeas, white roses, ruscus, silver dollar eucalyptus, heather, cedar and various greenery and berries.
The bride chose her sister, Megan Hopf of Huntingburg as maid of honor. Alexa Hopf, cousin of the bride, Huntingburg; Sarah Hopf, sister-in-law of the bride, Huntingburg; Sara Niehoff, cousin of the bride, Washington; Morgan Harrison, friend of the bride, Indianapolis; Charissa Schuetz, friend of the bride, Evansville; Tara Dawson, friend of the bride, Evansville; Molly Bishop, friend of the bride, Indianapolis; and Julia Greywitt, friend of the bride, Nashville, Tennessee, were bridesmaids. The flower girls were Abigail, Ellie Kate, Kennedy and Caroline Hopf, nieces of the bride, Huntingburg.
The bridesmaids wore sleeveless, shimmering gold, V-neck gowns accessorized by faux fur shawls.
The groom chose his brothers Marc Garrison, Athens, Georgia, and Evan Garrison, New Albany, as best men. Ryan Hopf, brother of the bride, Huntingburg; Gordan VanBibber, friend of the groom, Indianapolis; Travis Cochren, friend of the groom, Pike; Mark Speckhard, friend of the groom, Valparaiso; Blake Sergesketter, friend of the groom, Evansville; Quinton Cadick, friend of the groom, Evansville; and Andrew Abad, friend of the groom, Bloomington, were groomsmen. The ushers were Austin Hopf, cousin of the bride, Huntingburg, and Levi Hulsman, friend of the couple, Jasper.
The groom and groomsmen wore true blue tuxes with blue vests and white dress shirts accessorized with champagne ties.
A reception was held at The Barn at Sycamore Farms in Arrington, Tennessee.
The couple traveled to Thailand for their honeymoon and currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
The bride is a 2013 graduate of Jasper High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Evansville in 2017. The bride works in human resources for HCA Healthcare.
The groom is a 2008 graduate of Boonville High School. Scott served in the United States Navy from 2009-12. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Communication from the University of Evansville in 2016. The groom works as a leadership and development manager for JumpCrew Sales.
