Sharpshooters recognize members

The Southern Indiana Sharpshooters, sponsored by the American Legion Post 147 of Jasper, held its awards ceremony at their range in the basement of the American Legion Post on April 4.

Parents had a chance to shoot members’ rifles for prizes and additional appreciation. Plaques were given to The Great Outdoors and Servants Inc. for their support in its Marksmanship Program. 

The top veteran shooters were Emilee Seitz, gold; Abigayle Seitz, silver; and Brandon Fuhrman, bronze. The Seitzes are the daughters of Katrina and Mark Seitz of Velpen. Fuhrman is the son of Nicki and Chris Fuhrman of Otwell.

The top rookie shooters were Dalton Cummings, gold; C.J. Newton, silver; and Logan Cummings, bronze. The Cummings are the sons of Kimberly and Yulin Cummings of Petersburg and Newton is the son of Caylie and Chris Newton of Jasper.

The Junior Shooting Sports Program has shooting clubs established in Jasper, Seymour, Versailles, Shoals and Georgetown.
