Sharpshooters earn medals

The Southern Indiana Sharpshooters, sponsored by The American Legion Post 147 of Jasper, have completed the 2019-20 annual Junior Shooting Sports Program.
Awards were presented during a ceremony at American Legion Post 147, Jasper, on March 20. Indiana State Senator Mark Messier assisted in the awards presentation and had the opportunity to fire a Crossman Challenger Competition Grade .177 Air Rifle.
The awards were based on overall scores from various shooting matches and included The American Legion National Postal Match, Civilian Marksmanship Program Postal Match, Marine Corp ROTC Postal matches and The American Legion Department of Indiana State Postal Match.
The Southern Indiana Sharpshooters receiving awards were: Emilee Seitz, gold medal; Abigayle Seitz, silver medal; and Xavier Rasche, bronze medal.
Emilee and Abigayle Seitz are the daughters of Mark and Katrina Seitz of Velpen. Xavier is the son of Aaron and Heidi Rasche of Jasper. Emilee is a junior and Abby is a freshman and attend Seitz Home School Academy. Xavier is an eighth grader at Holy Trinity Catholic School, Jasper.
