Sharpshooter takes third in competition

The Southern Indiana Sharpshooters, sponsored by The American Legion Post 147 of Jasper, competed in the Southern Indiana Air Rifle series match at the Seymour American Legion Post 89 on Feb. 23.

There were 37 shooting athletics from various shooting clubs in southern Indiana competed in the three positions, 3 by 10 match. This match requires each shooter to fire 10 record shots at three separate 10 bull targets from the prone, standing and kneeling positions at a distance of 10 meters. The maximum score is 300.

Richard Block, first place with a score of 265 with eight bulls, is a member of American Legion Post 67 Shooting Club in Versailles. Maggie Holt, second place with a score of 264 and three bulls, is a member of the American Legion Post 67 Shooting Club in Versailles. Emilee Seitz, third place with a score of 262 and four bulls, is a member of the Southern Indiana Sharpshooters and is the daughter of Katrina and Mark Seitz of Velpen. She is a sophomore and attends the Seitz Homeschool Academy.
