Sentencing no-show brings warrant arrest

From Local Sources

JASPER — A Pike County man was booked into the Dubois County Security Center this week on a warrant issued after he failed to attend a sentencing hearing in a drug dealing case.

Tylor Z. Matthews, 25, 3772 N. Pike County Road 850E, Otwell, was initially charged in March with multiple drug-related counts. He pleaded guilty in early October to misdemeanor counts of possession of a synthetic drug and possession of paraphernalia.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Oct. 21 after he failed to meet with the court’s probation department and failed to appear at a sentencing hearing.

Authorities booked Matthews into the security center at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday on the failure-to-appear warrant. He appeared in court Wednesday and was ordered held in the security center pending sentencing in one week.
