JASPER — A Huntingburg woman was booked into jail Wednesday in connection with a driving-related court case.
Nakea M. Brown, 23, 206 N. Walnut St., Huntingburg, was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while having never been licensed and cited for driving with no insurance following a Sept. 13 traffic stop by the Jasper Police Department.
Brown was cited into court and pleaded guilty to the offenses in October but then failed to appear in Dubois Superior Court as scheduled for a Wednesday sentencing hearing.
Court records indicate Brown came to the courthouse two hours after the scheduled hearing. She was remanded into the custody of the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and ordered held at the Dubois County Security Center until a re-scheduled sentencing hearing slated for Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Authorities booked Brown into the security center at 4:57 p.m. Wednesday.
