Semi wreck closes South Newton StreetDecember 24, 2018

DUBOIS — A Wednesday night semi-versus-ditch mishap forced a temporary closure of South Newton Street.
Dennis S. Borisik, 23, Denver, Pennsylvania, was northbound on South Newton Street in a 2007 Peterbilt semi when the 10:45 p.m. accident occurred north of Hochgesang Avenue, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Borisik told police he did not see a curve in the road. The semi exited the east side of South Newton Street and wrecked into a ditch.
Police shut down South Newton Street between Church and Hochgesang avenues from 11:50 p.m. to 12:53 a.m. while the scene was cleared.
The wreck totaled the Peterbilt, according to Jasper police.
A Stork Service Center wrecker assisted.
