DUBOIS — One utility pole was snapped and another damaged when a semi leaving a business lot Wednesday west of Dubois snagged a low-hanging telephone wire.
Brian A. Browning, 56, Louisville, Kentucky, was making a delivery at Wabash Valley Produce Inc., 4886 E. 450N, Dubois, when the accident involving the 2016 Kenworth he was driving and wires and poles belonging to Frontier Communications, Jasper, occurred at 3 p.m., according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Browning was exiting the business toward the county road when the low-hanging wire became entangled with the Kenworth’s cab. Browning said he stopped as soon as he realized what was happening but the semi’s hood was scratched when the phone line stopped on it.
Total damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
