FERDINAND — No injuries were reported when a semi-tractor-trailer rig collided with a passenger car early Monday afternoon on Ferdinand’s south side.
A 1991 Mack semi with trailer driven by Johnnie N. Koester, 59, Wadesville, was pulling into the Circle A parking lot east of the State Road 162 and Industrial Road South intersection at the time of the 12:29 p.m. mishap, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Police said the Koester Mack struck a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage driven by Rosemary G. Parke, 56, Paoli, as Parke was waiting at the traffic light behind other vehicles.
Koester said he did not see the small car before his rig struck it.
Police who faulted Koester for the accident reported he accepted responsibility for the mishap.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no tickets were issued, according to police.
Damage to the Parke Mitsubishi was estimated at $1,500 while Koester’s Mack did not appear to have sustained damage.
