HUNTINGBURG — Security camera footage helped resolve a Thursday afternoon fender-bender in the Farbest Foods parking lot at 4689 S. 400W.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department said Oscar Guardado came outside of the plant and noticed damage to the rear of his 2012 Toyota Corolla.
With the assistance of camera footage, according to the sheriff’s department, it was learned Jose C. Silva Desdin, 48, Jasper, had tried to back his 2005 Ford F-150 into a parking spot and his truck had struck the rear passenger side of the Guardado Corolla.
A deputy said Silva Desdin had indicated he went inside the plant to avoid being late before finding the car’s owner and notifying him about the incident. He was told to make a greater effort to notify the owner if ever faced with a similar situation, according to the deputy.
Total damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
