Section of Birdseye Trail closedAugust 12, 2019
From Local Sources
BIRDSEYE — Due to forest management activities in the area, a section of the Birdseye Trail that runs through a part of the Hoosier National Forest in Dubois County is currently closed.
The section of the trail that is closed includes T2S, R2W, Sec. 31.
The rest of the Birdseye Trail remains open. Active management in this area will continue into the fall. Management activities are focused on removing dead or diseased non-native pine in the area, and creating necessary young forest habitat for wildlife that depends on those conditions.
