While Tuesday night’s spotlight was primarily focused on the opening night of the IHSAA girls basketball sectional games, there was also a boys basketball battle going on right here in Dubois County.

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps hosted the Paoli Rams in a rescheduled game and the Rams used a strong second half to pull away for a 58-40 victory.

The Rams held a narrow 22-19 lead at the halftime break but Paoli started to pull ahead in the third quarter thanks to Brett Bosley’s team-high 22 points. The Rams outscored the Jeeps 20-10 in the third quarter and 36-22 in the second half overall.

Reece Bauer led Northeast Dubois with 16 points while Lane Knies added eight and Ethan Ziegler finished with six points.
