JASPER — Just in time for the season of love, Next Act Inc. has announced the screening of “When Harry Met Sally,” one of the most beloved romantic comedies of all time, to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary.
The screening will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the historic Astra Theatre as part Next Act’s 2019 season. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. General admission are $8 and can be purchased at www.TheNextAct.org.
Directed by Rob Reiner with an Oscar nominated screenplay by Nora Ephron, this R-rated rom com spins the age-old question, in a witty and hilarious manner, of the differences between men and women. Starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, this film follows the evolution of their relationship over the course of 10 years. Weaving together many universal themes found in romantic relationships everywhere, When Harry Met Sally navigates through the arguments over shared possessions, high maintenance partners, rebounds after a breakup and, of course, the awkwardness of sex with a close friend.
Tickets for the Friday, March 22, performance of Iris DeMentt — singer, guitarist, pianist and songwriter — and opening performer Kenna Elpers are also available at www.TheNextAct.org.
A 2019 membership campaign for charitable donations to The Next Act is underway. The campaign includes fun incentives. Information about the support levels can be found at www.TheNextAct.org.
