Scores keep dropping for Cats

As the season meanders along, the scores keep falling for the Jasper girls golf team.

The Wildcats notched fifth place in the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational on Saturday at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville. Evansville North (299) claimed top honors in the 18-team field, followed by Floyd Central (307), Columbus North (329), Madison (339) and Jasper (341).


Golfing in the varsity lineup for the first time this season, Sarah Ackerman fired an 89 for the Wildcats, while Annika Harmon posted an 84 and Annie Getzin tied her season-best with a 75. Catherine Bell contributed a 93 and Jessica Rillo added a 94 for Jasper.

The Wildcats will play the first of two matches in two days this afternoon when they tussle with Forest Park and Heritage Hills at Christmas Lake Golf Course.
