JASPER — A school bus was involved in what was termed a minor mishap Thursday afternoon west of Jasper.
Kimberly L. Goeppner, 46, Otwell, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2008 school bus owned by Hellers Inc., Washington, when the 2:50 p.m. incident occurred 400 feet west of County Road 180N.
A deputy said Goeppner failed to notice a 2003 Ford Explorer that was stopped for traffic in the westbound lane.
The sheriff’s department said the bus rear-ended the Explorer driven by Crystal A. Arvin, 37, Jasper, but total damage was less than $1,000.
The Jasper Police Department worked a separate property damage accident late Monday morning reportedly involving a bus striking a pole or post on Manor Drive. Police indicated the department would not be issuing a release on the accident because there were no injuries and only minimal damage.
