Scholarship available for Girl Scouts

JASPER — The American Legion Department of Indiana 8th District is offering a $200 scholarship with the possibility of receiving a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to the American Legion Department of Indiana Convention to receive the award. The applicant must be a high school student.

Each Girl Scout must be an Indiana resident, must be a registered Girl Scout and have received the Girl Scout Gold Award.  She must be an active member of her religious institution and must have received the appropriate religious emblem, Ambassador or senior Scout level.

She must have demonstrated good and practical citizenship in her Girl Scouting, school, religious institution and community. She must submit at least four letters of recommendation and testimony with the application, with one letter from a leader in each group of Scouting, school, religious institution and community.

Go to programs, click on Scouting and follow that link to Girl Scout Scholarship or by contacting the American Legion Post 147 Post Children and Youth Chairman Daniel B.
