Scheeter tops in testing program

The American Legion Department of Indiana Commander Rodney Strong announced that Joshua Scheeter achieved top honors in the Americanism and Government Testing Program during the spring conference at Indianapolis on April 6.

Scheeter’s awards consisted of an American Legion Department of Indiana plaque and a check for $1,000. He competed against other senior male students within the state of Indiana.

The annual testing program allows young men and women the opportunity to receive scholarships based on their knowledge of current events, Indiana and U.S. government and the U.S. flag.

Scheeter, a senior at Jasper High School, is the son of Timothy and Rebecca Scheeter of Jasper.
