Santa arrives day after ThanksgivingNovember 6, 2019
JASPER — The Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association is announces that Santa Claus will move into his house on the courthouse lawn after 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 — the day after Thanksgiving.
Families are welcome to meet with Santa at the Sixth Street Fire Station from noon to 1 p.m. At that time, Santa and his elves will be joined by members of the Jasper High School band until they reach the Square.
Children are encouraged to dress up like Christmas packages for the parade.
A winner of an elementary school contest will have the honor of opening the door to Santa’s house, and Santa will talk with visitors until 3 p.m. Mayor Dean Vonderheide will be on hand to welcome everyone with a special greeting.
Children and families also are encouraged to bring canned foods. These items will all be donated to the Community Food Bank.
