Saint Meinrad announces Holy Week, Easter schedule

ST. MEINRAD — The Holy Week and Easter schedule for Saint Meinrad Archabbey has been set. The public is invited to join the Benedictine monks for these services in the Archabbey Church.

Blesssing and procession of palms, followed by Mass, will be held at 9:15 a.m. CT Palm Sunday, April 14. Vespers will begin at 5 p.m. CT.
Holy Thursday, April 18, services will start at 5 p.m. CT. Communion will be celebrated; there will be no vespers.

Good Friday, April 19, will have the liturgy of the passion and Death of the Lord at 3 p.m. CT. There will be no vespers.

Vespers on Holy Saturday, April 20, will be at 5 p.m. CT. The Vigil of Easter will from 8 to 11 p.m. CT; it will begin with the blessing of the fire and end with the Eucharist.

Easter Sunday, April 21, will have Lauds at 8:30 a.m. CT and vespers at 5 p.m. CT.

Easter Monday, April 22, will have Mass at 9:30 a.m. CT and vespers at 5 p.m. CT.

Easter Tuesday, April 23, Mass will begin at 7:30 a.m. CT and vespers will be at 5 p.m. CT.

The Saint Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Holy Saturday hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. The Scholar Shop will be closed Good Friday through Easter Sunday.

The archabbey library hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon CT and 1 to 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Thursday of Holy Week. The library will be closed Good Friday through Easter Sunday.
