Ruth Ann Ferguson, 83, of Huntingburg
July 2, 2019Ruth Ann Ferguson, 83, of Huntingburg, passed away at 3:30 a.m., on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born September 13, 1935, in Jasper, to Harry and Henrietta (Miller) Vonderheide and married Walter Ferguson on July 5, 1955, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.
Ruth worked as a cook at the Medco Nursing Center and Huntingburg Convalescent Center.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; and enjoyed reading, flowers, birds, kids and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ferguson, who died August 20, 2000; one son, Ken Ferguson; three siblings, Lucille Friedman, Melvin Vonderheide and Virginia Friedman; and one granddaughter, Natasha Lynn.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Carrico of Huntingburg, Sheilah Eversman and Jenny Himsel both of Jasper; eight sons, Randy, Steve, Tony and Chris Ferguson, all of Huntingburg, Gary Ferguson of Lincoln City, Tom Ferguson of Haysville, Trell Ferguson of Corydon and Cameron Jay Ferguson of Jasper; three sisters, Pat Opel of Haysville, Jane Schnell of Jeffersonville and Delores Russell of Rancho Cordova, California; 31 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Ruth Ann Ferguson at 11 a.m. ET on Monday, July 8, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, with Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand officiating.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, the day of the service.
