Ruth Ann Cherry, 79, of Huntingburg, passed away at 7:41 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at her residence.
She was born December 19, 1939, in Huntingburg, to Irvin V. and Helen M. (Friedman) Underwood.
Ruth Ann was a healthcare worker, operated Slender Quest Gym & Tanning and Blitz Builders, was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and volunteered at Shared Abundance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Kenneth Underwood.
She is survived by two sons, Michael L. (Chelle) Cherry and Alan D. (Cathy) Cherry, both of Huntingburg; two siblings, Diana Rothrock of Jasper and Paul (Marilyn) Underwood of Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Renae Cherry, Darianne Cherry, D.J. Oxley, Bryan Beard and Roy Cole; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5.
A rosary prayer vigil will be prayed at 4:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Dubois County Humane Society.
