Russell E. Dorsam, 78, of Haysville, passed away at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020, in the Martin County Health and Rehab Center in Loogootee.
Russell was born in Portersville on October 27, 1941, to Clispy and Leona (Sullivan) Dorsam.
Russell was a 1959 graduate of Dubois High School.
He previously worked as a mechanic for Uebelhor’s, and was then a truck driver for Kimball and retired from Breidenbaugh’s where he had been a truck driver as well.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, the Haysville Ruritan Club, the Eastern Star at Glendale, the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, and the Eagles of Huntingburg. He was also the secretary of the Spark and Park Car Club.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending antique car shows and races, working outside, especially in the yard, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Angela Killion, Loogootee, Amber Coates, Conway, South Carolina, and Janie (Matt) Cunningham, Charlestown; two sons, Kurt Dorsam and Sebastian Dorsam, both of Haysville; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Harker, Alfordsville.
Preceding him in death are an infant son, Jeff Dorsam; and one brother, Lowell Dorsam.
A funeral service for Russell E. Dorsam will be held at 11; a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in Haysville Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity.
