Rose Marie McKibben, 92, of Dubois, passed away at 4:47 a.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019, in Northwood Retirement Community, Jasper.
She was born in Martin County on August 9, 1926, to Henry and Mary (Mann) Bauer. She married James C. McKibben (Charlie) on June 23, 1946, He preceded her in death on February 4, 2005.
Rose was a homemaker and member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois.
She was from a musical family and played the guitar from age 8 to age 91. Rose also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and church family.
Rose is survived by three daughters, Ruth Jones, Dubois, Dianne Pankey, Shelbyville, and Kathye LeMay, Tucson, Arizona; two sons, Terry G. McKibben (Julie), Henderson, Kentucky, and Dale McKibben (Karen), Bloomington; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Zehr (Armin), Dubois, Helen Greene, Shelbyville, and Ann Troutman (Lee), French Lick; and four brothers, Pete Bauer (Leah), Greenwood, Louis Bauer (Helen) Haysville, August “Augie” (Helen), Shoals, and Kenneth Bauer, Dubois.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are two brothers, George Bauer and Wally Bauer.
Funeral services for Rose McKibben will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019, in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Rev. John Sterrett will officiate.
Private visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northwood Retirement Community.
