IRELAND — A Pike County motorist complained of pain after a Sunday rollover accident west of Ireland.
Evelyn O. Burris, 20, Petersburg, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze when the 2:30 p.m. accident occurred at County Road 750W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Burris told deputies she looked away from the roadway, and when she looked back, her car was in the eastbound lane. Burris said she over-corrected, sending the car off the north side of the highway and into a field.
The car rolled two to three times and stopped on its wheels, according to the sheriff’s office.
Burris complained of back pain and was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, according to the sheriff’s office. A hospital spokeswoman said she was treated and released.
The crash totaled the car, according to police.
A deputy cited Burris for driving left of center.
The Ireland Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
