Rolling domestic call results in man’s arrest

HUNTINGBURG — Police leveled multiple preliminary charges Friday against a man after an afternoon report of a rolling domestic southwest of Huntingburg.

The report of the domestic altercation in a vehicle was logged at 5:11 p.m. and resulted in police making contact with a female victim found who had a visible injury at Old Road 64 and County Road 630S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect, Stephen R. D’Esposito, 24, 504 S. Chestnut St., Huntingburg, had left the scene in a Ford Fusion but police later made contact with him in the 100 block of Third Street in Holland.

In the course of being placed into custody, police said, D’Esposito allegedly became unruly, failed to obey police commands and spit on an Indiana State Police trooper’s hand.

Authorities booked D’Esposito into the Dubois County Security Center at 10:48 p.m. Friday on preliminary charges that included a Level 6 felony count of battery on law enforcement and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, domestic battery and resisting law enforcement.

The Huntingburg Police Department also assisted.
