ROCKPORT — The Spencer County Sheriff’s Department reports working a Saturday night crash west of the Rockport area that resulted in a fatality.
Spencer County dispatch recieved a call at 8:45 p.m. CDT about a vehicle accident at State Road 161 and Eureka Road.
When deputies arrived they determined the crash involved a vehicle that had been westbound on Eureka Road and another vehicle that had been northbound on State Road 161.
The sheriff’s department said the vehicle on Eureka Road ran the stop sign at the highway and the vehicle on State Road 161 was unable to avoid hitting it.
No other information has been released, with the sheriff’s department reporting the investigation is ongoing.
Indiana State Police assisted.
