Robert Phillipy, 98, Jasper
July 20, 2020Robert “Bob” Phillipy, 98, of Jasper, passed away at 3:44 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2020, at the Northwood Retirement Center in Jasper.

He was born July 16, 1922, near Velpen, to Claude and Eva (Robinson) Phillipy.
He graduated from Otwell High School on April 19, 1941; and served in the South Pacific with the United States Coast Guard.
Bob married Flora Schwartz on May 1, 1948, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bretzville where he was an active member for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 147; and enjoyed cards, being outside, family gatherings and working Sudoku puzzles.
He retired from the Indiana Desk Factory after 43 years as a Moulder operator.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Garnet Cauble.
Bob is survived by his wife of 72 years, Flora Phillipy of Jasper; by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Robert Phillipy will be held at 1 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.
Friends may call for visitation from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at Bretzville Cemetery in Bretzville. The Rev. Dan Sergesketter will officiate at the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tri-Cap’s Abused Children’s Program, the Bretzville Cemetery Fund or Ronald McDonald House.
