Roadways closing for crossing fixesApril 26, 2013
From local sources
The Indiana Department of Transportation will close roadways in Dale and Gentryville next week so repairs came be made to railroad crossings in those communities.
Both closures begin at 8 a.m. CDT Monday. INDOT says work on both crossings should be complete by 2 p.m. Friday.
INDOT will close State Road 62 in Dale from Old U.S. 231/Washington Street to State Road 162 at Troesch Junction so the railroad crossing at state roads 62 and 245 just east of Dale can be repaired.
The state’s official detour for through-traffic makes use of Old U.S. 231, U.S. 231 and State Road 162.
In Gentryville, Old U.S. 231 will close so repairs can be made to a railroad crossing just south of town.
The limits of that closure are from State Road 162 north of Gentryville to State Road 70 at Chrisney, and the state’s official detour for through-traffic makes use of state roads 70 and 162 and U.S. 231.
