DUBOIS — Roadway conditions were cited as a factor in a Friday morning mishap just east of the Dubois Crossroads.
James D. Ward, 29, French Lick, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2004 Ford Taurus when the 9:50 a.m. accident occurred 200 feet west of County Road 575E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Ward lost control of his car in a curve on wet pavement, according to a deputy. The Taurus ran off the south side of the highway and struck a Frontier Communications utility pole before stopping facing southwest, according to the sheriff’s office.
Total damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
A Dr. Auto wrecker from French Lick assisted.
