Rita Marie Schnarr, 88, Jasper
June 9, 2020Rita Marie Schnarr, 88, of Jasper, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 2020, at her home.


She was born August 12, 193,1 in Cannelburg to the late Lawrence and Clara Ruth (Feagans) Nolan.
Rita graduated from Montgomery High School in 1949. She was member of the Daughter of the American Revolution, Daughters of Isabella and Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was a former member of St. John Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Schnarr; parents, Lawrence and Clara Nolan; and sister-in-law, Liz Nolan.
Rita is survived by her children, Mary (George) Cochran of The Villages, Florida, Terrance Schnarr of Jasper, Victoria (John) Strange of Jasper, Jerome (Patricia) Schnarr of Greenwood, Christopher (Ann) Schnarr of Indianapolis and Richard (Mary Grace) Schnarr of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, George Nolan of Montgomery; and sister-in-law, Cleda and Dave Kuckuck of Troy, Illinois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker and concelebrant Rev. Gary Kaiser at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, Tunnels to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warriors Project.
