Reyes named Optimist Youth of the MonthApril 29, 2021
Shayla Reyes, the 18-year-old daughter of Reyranio Reyes and John and Bobby Fromme, is the Huntingburg Optimist Youth of the Month for April.
While in high school, Ms. Reyes was a member of the marching and symphonic band, choir, and the annual musicals. In addition, she was a member of the Kindness Crew, the Spanish Club, and was an officer in the Latino Advocacy Group.
She has been the recipient of the Dubois County Scholastic Excellence Award and is a candidate for salutatorian for the Class of 2021.
Ms. Reyes plans to attend VUJ for two years, followed by two years at a university in Indiana where she will study psychology or social work.
