BIRDSEYE — A Thursday afternoon report of a robbery and battery earlier in the day in Birdseye culminated with an arrest.
A Birdseye couple came to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office to report that, when returning to their home, the woman’s ex-boyfriend was waiting.
After the two males argued, it was alleged, Kelly L. Edwards, 29, 113 E. Brown St., Dale, produced a handgun, threatened the husband’s life and, at one point, struck his lower jaw with the gun’s muzzle. Edwards was alleged to have left after taking cash and prescription medication from the complainants.
Edwards was later detained by the Santa Claus Police Department and brought to the Dubois County Security Center, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities booked Edwards into the security center at 1:25 a.m. today on preliminary charges of Level 3 felony armed robbery, Level 5 felony battery with a deadly weapon and intimidation and Level 6 felony pointing a firearm.
