Redemption releases 12-song albumJuly 8, 2020
Redemption Christian Church — with campuses in Jasper and Loogootee — has released a new musical project, “Gathered/Scattered,” to streaming and digital download services worldwide.
“Gathered/Scattered” is a 12-song album consisting of songs recorded by various Redemption bands, leaders and volunteers during Redemption’s digital gatherings from March to June 2020. Featuring new versions of six original Redemption songs and six covers of classic hymns for the church, Gathered/Scattered is now available via streaming/download outlets such as Spotify, Apple Music, the iTunes Store, Google Play, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and other outlets.
Included in the album are songs led by Redemption ministers Caleb Spencer and Daniel Ross as well as volunteers Laura Blue and Lynette Yoder. Additionally, the final track on the album is an at-home version of the hymn, “’Tis So Sweet to Trust In Jesus” from Loogootee campus students Hannah and Hope Smith. Redemption’s original compositions, such as “We Are Called,” “Never The Same,” “Freedom’s Song” and “Ready, Willing, Able” are performed by various Redemption bands in varying styles from their original studio recordings. A diverse array of styles are also utilized to cover classic hymns of the church, such as “There Is A Fountain,” “Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing” and “Rock of Ages,” among others.
Redemption Christian Church takes an approach to worship with music — with a focus on the gospel message of Jesus — presented in varying styles listeners can understand. The church currently has six different bands ranging in style from acoustic roots — flavored to modern and classic rock — while hitting several musical points in between to present the gospel in as much musical diversity as possible.
