JASPER — The Gallery Walk at the Jasper City Mill will feature the work of oil painter Kyle Eckert of Jasper for the next six months. A reception to mark the opening of the exhibit will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the mill.
Eckert’s inspiration often comes from nature. In her art studio she recreates scenes from photographs she has taken by redevising the composition, focal point and imagination. Eckert says the intent of her finished paintings is for the viewer to feel emotions by the way she uses the power of suggestion. She is working on a series of paintings titled “Romancing the Heartland”.
Eckert, whose prints have been sold across the country, is a member of The Oil Painters of America and Dubois County Art Guild. She is represented by Forrest Fresh in Jasper and Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Ariz.
All the works by Dubois County Art Guild members displayed at the Jasper City Mill is original and for sale. The work consists of oil, watercolor, drawing, acrylic, photography and print.
