IRELAND — Total damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500 in a pickup-truck-versus-passenger-car collision Saturday morning in Ireland.
Steven R. Buchta, 38, Loogootee, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2015 Dodge Charger when the 9:12 a.m. accident occurred just east of County Road 500W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Buchta was waiting for traffic to clear before turning into a gas station when his car was rear-ended by a 1999 Ford F-150 driven by Juan M. Garcia, 63, Washington, according to the sheriff’s office.
A deputy cited Garcia for following too closely and for no valid driver’s license after the mishap.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
